Tubkaak Beach (also spelled Tup Kaek) is just the right destination if you’d like to get away from it all in style in Krabi. Located north of Klong Muang and south of Ao Thalane, it's quiet – very quiet! Just north of the beach, wannabe explorers and adventurers can enjoy the trails going through the thick rainforest belonging to the Hat Nopparat – Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park. One of these trails lead to the Khao Ngon Nak Viewpoint (Dragon Crest Mountain Viewpoint), which offers a unique panorama over Krabi Province after a strenuous two hours and half steep hike.
Tubkaak is a long sandy beach that hosts a handful of resorts, most of them ranked in the four- and five-star categories, and not much else which makes this an ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries. The islands that make up the Pak Bia group can be seen from the beach. You can get a closer look on a daytrip around the islands. Most of the dining and shopping options are inside the aforementioned hotels yet, a few satellite businesses – mostly bars and restaurants – can be found in the area.
Summing up, despite the fact that most of the length of the beach is occupied by resorts, it remains a public area and can be visited through a small path located near its northern tip. Tubkaak Beach can be seen in the movie ‘Hangover 2’ which has a few scenes shot at the Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton Hotel. It is really a scenic spot that offers a very romantic place to spend a holiday in Krabi.
