    Nopparat Thara Shopping

    0

Nopparat Thara Plaza is the latest addition to the Ao Nang/Nopparat Thara shopping scene. Opened in February 2014, this contemporary style shopping and dining plaza offers some cool shopping opportunities in an otherwise quiet area when it comes to shopping opportunities.

Set along Nopparat Thara beach road some 500m from the northern end of Ao Nang, right next to Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach and diagonally opposite Luna Beach Bar & Restaurant, Nopparat Thara Plaza hosts about 20 shops and restaurants as well as a food court. Designed in a style blending modern and natural elements, the plaza is set in a spacious compound featuring plants, trees and a large carp pond between the solid hut-like shops.

  • The shops and boutiques at the plaza include some world-famous sportswear brands such as Adidas and Converse. Handcrafted items are also well represented with Saphiro Gold & Silver Jewelry, De’ Craft Krabi (quality handmade products from four regions in Thailand), and an art gallery at which you will find well-executed oil paintings featuring classic images of Thailand, Buddha representations and modern reproduction paintings.

A few shops are bazaar-like outlets that sell the usual ‘I love Krabi’ T-shirts, sunglasses, swimsuits and fancy hippie-style light cotton dresses and pants while Naturalism, a health outlet, sells herb & aroma products (including massage oils); Wissarin Pharmacy has everything to fix and cure scratches, head and stomachache; Thara Massage awaits you with a good menu of soothing massages and treatments (including reflexology); and a small Family Mart is the perfect convenience store at which you can find all the necessary items that are not for sale in the other outlets. A beauty salon (hairdresser and manicure), Tree Top Adventure Park, and one tour agent also have booths here.

Nopparat Thara Plaza is a great place to find a good choice of small restaurants and bars to enjoy a drink – especially at sunset time - the plaza’s location makes it a great sundowner spot. Delphine Bar is a cool venue to watch sport on TV; Sherrito is a nice outlet selling homemade ice creams; 4sis Pizza & More has a great choice of Italian’s favourites; two smoothie and fruit shake booths; one coffee and tea booth; and one food court that counts eight restaurants at which you can sample local and Korean delicacies (Arbadi Restaurant, Halal Thai Food, Krua Tang, May & Sin Restaurant, just to name a few).

The food court is a cozy and unpretentious place with aluminum tables and chairs dispatched between the different restaurants, allowing customers to pick dishes according their taste in any of them. Summing up, Nopparat Thara Plaza is a cool addition to a previously rather quiet place that was somewhat lacking in venues.
