At Railay you can get your essentials such as sun cream and mosquito repellent from local minimarts in the alleys linking Railay West and East but be prepared to pay more for goods than at Ao Nang and certainly more than in Krabi Town.
There is a secondhand bookstore and several outlets selling hippy accessories and if you're looking for rock climbing gear (which many people are here) you can acquire the basics but Railay is certainly not a shopping destination.
