Where to Shop and What to Buy in Krabi

On Krabi's beaches, you don't have to go shopping, the shop comes to you. Ambulant vendors ply the sands selling everything from sarongs to suntan lotion, from bookends to Buddhas, from batik to beer. However, if you're serious about shopping there are bargains to be had in the riverfront shops of Krabi Town and if you are good at haggling and bargaining down prices even Phi Phi Island has its interesting nooks and crannies. Ao Nang has stall after stall of souvenirs and handicrafts so simply wait for the sun to go down and hit the shopping trail.

Klong Muang Shopping

Klong Muang is quiet. Its beach and sunset views are its main attractions and for good shopping opportunities visitors should head for nearby Ao Nang. Indeed, apart from several mom & pop stores and isolated 7-Elevens the only good shopping facilities in Klong Muang are in and around the Klong Muang Plaza (spelled ‘Klong Moung Plaza’ on the sign). Nopparat Thara Shopping

Not a shopping destination, Nopparat Thara is a park area with a few accommodation choices and therefore several outlets that keep hotel guests in beer, snacks and beach material. At the pier situated at the north end of the beach stands a 7-Eleven and along the Beach Road are scattered beachwear vendors. Beautiful Girl store is roughly halfway between Nopparat Thara and Ao Nang but for anything more complicated than a pack of cigarettes or an out-of-date newspaper you’ll have to go to Ao Nang.
