Sheer bliss...7 days in Krabi

1. Get into the mood! Put on lots of sun cream and head for one of Krabi's beaches like Railay or Ao Nang (if you're not already staying there) Take a longtail boat, get your snorkeling gear and go island hopping to Koh Poda, Koh Gai and a couple of the smaller islands.

2. For a total contrast (and to avoid getting totally sunburnt) travel inland and visit the Tiger Cave Wat Tham Sua for breathtaking views of the province. Climb the 1237 stairs to the mountain-top shrine.

3. Go shopping in Krabi Town or visit the local landmark Khao Kanab Nam and go sightseeing around the mangroves on the Krabi river. Hire a car/ boat or take a tour that includes a visit to both Wat Tham Sua or Krabi Town.

4. Visit the Phi Phi Islands, they're a must see. If you prefer to stay in the locality, take a longtail boat to Railey and relax on the beach.

5. Explore the interior with its hot springs and caves. Go walking in the Khao Nor Chu Chi National Park - easy walking trails, natural swimming pools and landscaped back to nature Jacuzzis. Hire a car, or take a tour.

6. Savour some wonderful seafood. Don't forget, Krabi has some excellent seafood restaurants, found in Ao Nang and also Krabi Town...

While you could do everything yourself (and it's not that difficult) tours in Krabi do offer good value for money.
