Pimalai Resort & Spa opened on November 1st, 2001. It is currently the only resort on Lanta island, Krabi, having received the official 5 ***** certification by the Minister of Tourism and Sports. The resort was awarded in 2004 the prestigious “Kinnari Trophy/ Excellence - Best Tourism Accommodation - Southern region”, by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and was also nominated “Thailand Leading Resort 2007” at the annual World Travel Awards. Through its commitment in preserving the environment Pimalai was awarded a “Green Gold Class Certificate” by Thailand Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; it also finally received a PADI Gold Palm Resort membership for its Dive Center.

The property is located approximately 2hrs to 2hrs30mns (pending on season) from Krabi International Airport and is reached by the resort’s private minibus and cruising boat. The accommodation of restful low-density and of a southern style design, are nestled in this magnificent lush tropical forest, overlooking Kantieng bay, arguably the best bay on the island.
In December 2005, was initiated the opening of 39 stunning Pool Villas. The elegantly appointed one, two and three bedrooms pool villas are located on a hillside, some 60 meters above sea level and provide breathtaking views of the majestic Andaman sea and the surrounding lush tropical vegetation.
Today the resort’s facilities consist of, a combined 121 Deluxe Rooms, Pavilion Suites, Beach Villas and Pool Villas, all with a contemporary Thai style design, two superb infinity-edge freshwater swimming pools, a PADI dive center (Nov – Apr), a large fitness room with high quality fitness equipment, a sport ground that includes 2 floodlight tennis courts, library lounges offering free high speed internet access, shops and meeting facilities for up to 80 persons.
