Bluejuice

What Bluejuice lacks in finesse in its cooking it more than makes up with a warm welcome, healthy menu choices and atmosphere. Also serving as a guesthouse and an extremely popular dive shop, it’s not hard to meet people at Bluejuice. With robust jacket potatoes, meaty club sandwiches and natural vegetable soups this is the place to dine if you’re health conscious. Occasional live music, a pool table and impromptu parties keep the restaurant popular.

Gecko Cabane

Gecko Cabane is an unpretentious yet charming restaurant famous for its food quality and service as well as for its laid-back atmosphere. Gecko Cabane is located in Soi Ruamjit, a tiny lane off the southern end of Maharaj Road, at the foot of Wat Kaew Korawaram. The restaurant shows character in its original setting and décor: rough wooden furnishing, green plants hanging all around the dining room, and ornaments on the walls, Gecko Cabane has a genuine Thai rustic feeling in which one could sense the feminine touch of Jariya Paklow, the chef and owner of the place. The food served at Gecko Cabane compasses tasty Asian fusion, Thai and vegetarian dishes, all served in generous portions at affordable prices. Please note that the spice rate indicated on the menu is made to Thai standards, so #8 is already very spicy.

Mr. Krab-i is one of the most recommended restaurants in Krabi Town. Located on Chaofah Road, a few hundred metres from Chaofah Park on the Krabi River, Mr. Krab-i is a neat and clean unpretentious restaurant with brick walls, wooden tables and chairs, and curios hanging on the walls. Under management of a charming Italian/Thai couple, the restaurant is famous for both its Italian (pasta al’ dente) and Thai (the soft shell crab is amazing) dishes served in large portions. Ruan Pae - Krabi River Floating Restaurant

Ruan Pae - Krabi River Floating Restaurant is an original place to dine at in Krabi Town. Set off Chao Fah Pier and nowadays accessible via a narrow bridge – it used to float further away from the river banks and was accessible only by long-tail boat – this long-established slightly old-fashioned venue offers a unique way to enjoy the sunset over the mangroves while dining on local seafood favourites. The atmosphere is great, the ambience relaxed, and the food served features a great choice of crab curries, steamed fish, and barbecued shrimp and squid. Please be warned that early evening is also dinner time for mosquitoes that come in masses for a feast on the river so do not forget your mosquito-repellent and wear pants (the restaurant also sets up mosquito coils around the dining room).

Ruen Mai Restaurant

Ruen Mai Restaurant is considered one of the best southern Thai cuisine diners in the outskirt of Krabi Town. It is located slightly out of town in the middle of lush banana and sugarcane plantations and is entirely built with natural materials: a swinging bridge from the main road with a bamboo fence brings punters onto a wooden platform – the seating area which is covered with an impressive thatched conical bamboo and thatch roof. Its cuisine features seafood and southern Thai specialties and mainly uses organic vegetables and herbs grown in the property’s garden. With friendly staff members, relaxed ambience, and high-quality local food, Ruen Mai Restaurant is indeed a highly recommended venue.
