Krabi Town Restaurant Guide
Where to dine in Krabi Town
What Krabi Town lacks in size it makes up for in the number of
great places to eat.
Local vendors seem to pop out of nowhere with mobile kitchens serving
excellent noodles, chicken and rice accompanied by lime juice shakes
or local beer. Krabi's speciality - fresh seafood is also prevalent.
Lobster, crab, squid and a variety of fish go straight from the
Andaman Sea to your plate.
River Area
Around the river area, especially near the Chao Fa Pier, bread
is very fashionable. Walk two minutes in any direction and you'll
encounter an improbable number of Italian restaurants and bakeries
peddling their baked wares.
Lisa Bakery claims to be the first, Bolero
Pizzeria combines fantastic pizza with a rockin' two-man
band, and Pizzeria Firenze does cheese and wine
(among many other things).
Downtown
The flour-based theme extends to the downtown area as well, with
the mind-boggling selection of May & Mark's, Kamchanee Bakery, and Viva Pizzeria.
Vogue Shopping Centre is Little America, thanks to The Pizza
Company, KFC, Swensen's, Dairy Queen, and Dunkin Donuts all
under one roof. Or duck around the corner to Walk In Bar.
A decent menu and a corner location next to the night market make
it the ideal vantage point for watching the market madness from
a safe distance.
Those not looking to load up on carbs have plenty of choices too;
this is, after all, a small Thai town. Day markets, night markets,
roadside stalls, noodle shops - it's all here. And it doesn't require
much effort to find.
