Krabi Town Nightlife Guide
Everything you need to know about Nightlife in Krabi Town
Nightlife here is tame - geared more towards casual conversations than
crazy mating dances. Wanderers that have been lost for hours, days,
or months gravitate to the unofficial guesthouse district of Chao
Fa Road.
The Hill
Heading up the hill from the river, a number of cafes and bars
line the street, including The Balcony and Choke
Dee Restaurant. Food and beer are abundant; a couple places
even have pool tables.
Towards the top of the incline is a ragtag group of drinking establishments
that have assumed imported personas: O'Malley's, Old West Bar, and Reggae Bar live
up to their names.
A few steps further is funky Bang Krabi, the chillest
of them all, where Mr Big is quick to enlighten with a story or
entertain with song - and he's quite good at both.
Town Center
For a killer cup of coffee in air-conditioned surrounds, 89
Cafe and Boncafe, both on this stretch
of asphalt, are pleasantly modern and spotless.
Mellow bars like the Gecko House, live-music clubs
like Crazy Pub, and a smattering of karaoke bars
dot the nightscape in the centre of town. It's all very, very Thai-style,
but none so much as the sidewalk cinemas, where locals pull up a
square of concrete and grab a bite to eat while enjoying a movie
on the (sometimes) big screen.
