Check out our list of the 10 best nightlife in Ao Nang, and you will discover an eclectic choice of places with surely something for your tastes: from Ao Nang Center Point’s and Soi RCA's adult entertainment scenes to The Last Café and its bucolic and hippie ambience, there’s no doubt that you’ll find a venue at which you can enjoy a drink at night in Ao Nang.
Ao Nang’s nightlife scene is not as earth shattering as Pattaya’s, Phuket’s or Bangkok’s but it offers enough options to satisfy most partygoers and night owls. Ao Nang may be the prime holiday destination in Krabi Province but it still retains a certain laid-back and relaxed atmosphere that its fast and continuous development has not changed much; although Buddhist philosophy states that ‘nothing is permanent’, Ao Nang’s coolness has not totally disappeared yet.

Located in Ao Nang Walking Street, a few steps away from the beach road, Boogie Bar is a seventies-style bar curiously separated by the walking street’s lane. The largest side of the bar features tables, chairs, a pool table, and the bar counter, while the smaller side on the other side of the lane hosts just a few tables and the stage on which performs a talented cover band. All the classic tunes of pop-rock are executed with brio by the live band which is the real centre of attraction in this quaint bar. The drink list hosts all the usual suspects from beer to cocktail and from soft drink to spirit. Note that prices are pretty steep.
- Opening Hours: 15:00 – 02:00
- Location: in Ao Nang Walking Street, on the beach road side
Roots Rock Reggae Bar is a middle-sized open-air bar located on the main road to Krabi Town in Ao Nang’s southern part, diagonally opposite Mac Donald’s, some 50m after Bombay Palace Indian Restaurant when coming from the beach. The place is fast becoming one of the most frequented and lively venues after sunset, offering a great mix of affordable drinks (small bottle of beer at 90 baht and cocktails at 150 baht), excellent live music (the Thai band performing here has a great singer), friendly staff, and fire shows at 20:30 (right on the pavement in front of the bar). Due to the lack of place inside, a dozen of tables are set roadside, and Roots Rock Reggae Bar is packed every night. The atmosphere is rather laid-back and unpretentious, making this bar a must-visit to people in search of a cool and decent place at which they can have a drink in peace. They also serve good quality Thai and western food.

Ao Nang Center Point has been the heart of nightlife entertainment since 1999 in the most popular resort town in Krabi Province. Ao Nang Center Point is a modern three-storey entertainment complex featuring a great choice of dining, shopping and entertainment options. It is the equivalent on a smaller scale of places such as Bangla Road in Phuket, or Soi Cowboy in Bangkok: places at which punters can either quench their thirst as well as finding some intimate company. Soi RCA Entertainment is one of the two main nightlife spots in Ao Nang (the other is Ao Nang Center Point). It is not clear what RCA stands for; in Bangkok, RCA - Royal City Avenue – is the epicenter of the capital’s clubbing scene; the meaning must be the same in Ao Nang, nevertheless the place’s status could give it another meaning such as ‘Radar Controlled Approach’ as any single man entering Soi RCA is literally scrutinized from head to toe by the bar girls (or wannabe girls) posted in front of each of the 12 joints available in the 100m-long street. The Last Café owes its name to its location toward the southern end of Ao Nang Beach: there’s nothing but the cliff after it (well, it’s not exactly true as the next bay - Pai Plong Bay – is nowadays reachable by a man-made wooden lane fixed on the side of the cliff). Its remote location makes The Last Café a chill-out place far from the crowds. Serving Thai, seafood and western fare from 10:00 ‘til late, The Last Café is mostly famous for its laid-back, cool and entertaining atmosphere at night: beachside barbecues, cold beer, cool cocktails and cool music, Thai boxing matches, DJ performances, and fire shows, The Last Café offers its punters an original tropical escape at the end of Ao Nang Beach.
- Opening Hours: daily from 10:00 – late
- Location: Past the massage huts at the end of Ao Nang Beach
The Deck – Cocktail Bar & Beyond is a recent addition to Ao Nang’s nightlife scene (it opened in November 2013) and could be considered as the first (and only) rooftop bar in the most popular resort town in Krabi province. Located off the road to Krabi Town in the southern part of Ao Nang, its entrance isn’t that easy to find as it is down a small alleyway starting on the right side of Taj Mahal Restaurant; at the end of the alleyway you will find the stairs to The Deck. The main asset of The Deck is its position offering a cool view overlooking Ao Nang Road. Cool sea breezes, fair-priced drinks, friendly staff and laid-back atmosphere above the bustling street, The Deck – Cocktail Bar & Beyond has all the ingredients for a successful evening in Ao Nang.
- Opening Hours: daily from 17:00 - 23:00

The Last Fisherman is a tropical restaurant dream come true: set right on Ao Nang Beach – on its southern part – this bar and restaurant made of recovered materials, thatch and bamboo and driftwood (the only modern material used is the white plastic chairs), offers its punters a chill-out place at which they can dine with their toes in the sand under the shade of coconut and tropical almond trees. The Last Fisherman is certainly not a fine-dining venue, but it serves pretty decent food – western snacks, Thai favourites, and daily barbecue in the evening – as well as a great choice of excellent cocktails that are highly appreciated while things are cooling down at sunset time.
