Baan Café
Supplier to many of the local dive shops and hotels, this pretty little café sells breads and pastries to take away or to eat in. A popular choice for breakfast and lunch due to its proximity to the passenger ferries, its cool breezes and reasonably priced real coffee, shakes, sandwiches, chocolate croissants and pancakes make this a perfect daytime hangout.

Black Pearl
Already extended since it opened in 2011, The Black Pearl has magnificent views over the sea and is very popular with Swedish families as they offer traditional Swedish fare (their Swedish meatballs are a must), as well as other European (primarily Italian) dishes and Thai food. Good quality food but pricey for Lanta, especially the Thai food, but a good selection of wines.

Lanta Seafood
This is probably the most well-known restaurant on the island and is well liked amongst tourists and locals who often come as large groups to share various dishes. Lanta Seafood’s restaurant has beautiful views over the channel but is quite plain looking inside. Do not be put off, they serve tasty but cheap Thai food throughout the day and in the evening their fish and seafood BBQ stall (mid-range in price) opens at the front of the restaurant where you can select your dish and have it prepared your way. Due to its popularity, we recommend going before 20:00 to guarantee a table during High Season.
- Opening Hours: Daily from 11:00 to 22:00
- Location: Left at the end of the main road and 50 metres on the right

Papa’s Restaurant
There’s a really wide selection of food at this beautiful restaurant, which is over the water and absolutely covered in flowers providing most tables with privacy even when they are very busy in High Season. PaPa’s is relatively expensive for Koh Lanta, but the food portions are generous and their pizzas and steak are very tasty.
- Opening Hours: 12:00 – 23:00

Saladan food stalls
Eating at food stalls in Thailand is a must. The street vendors on the right before the town have seating and the best way to order is to take a sneak peak at what is in the giant cooking pot or ask for the same as someone else has. Do not be surprised if you get hooked; this is Thai cooking at its best and cheapest. The stalls closer to 7-Eleven offer appetizing snacks (fruit pancakes, chicken and pork skewers) at very cheap prices and these are extremely popular at night.
- Opening Hours: Daily 06:00 – 24:00 varies according to the stall
- Location: Along the main road and around 7-Eleven
Sala Lanta
Right in the middle of Saladan and open from early morning, when locals take advantage of the breakfast options, Sala Lanta serves well cooked Thai food with their curries being particular popular. The Thai food is well presented, tasty and moderately priced as are their simple international dishes.
- Opening Hours: 08:00 – 22:00
- Location: Left just as you arrive in Saladan

The Frog
From the front of this restaurant you can only see their extensive wine collection in their purpose-built hermetically sealed wine cellar, but climb the stairs and there is a smart restaurant and a beautiful garden behind. A modern bistro, The Frog caters for western tastes serving high quality, but expensive western and limited Thai food. A must is their tenderloin and gourmet burgers and it is one of the few places on the island serving a wide range of good quality wines at reasonable prices. An excellent choice for a special occasion, but booking is recommended in High Season.
