Where to Shop & What to Buy in Klong Muang Beach
Klong Muang is quiet. Its beach and sunset views are its main attractions and for good shopping opportunities visitors should head for nearby Ao Nang.
Indeed, apart from several mom & pop stores and isolated 7-Elevens the only good shopping facilities in Klong Muang are in and around the Klong Muang Plaza (spelled ‘Klong Moung Plaza’ on the sign).
Klong Muang Plaza
This square of antique and handicraft shops, massage and beauty parlours, cafes and boutiques is the antithesis of Bangkok shopping in that it’s clean, quiet and relaxed. Shoppers can take their time, snack or even go for a massage before checking their emails – everything’s here, all centralised and handy.

Asian Arts
Featuring antiques, replicas, curios, wooden artifacts and souvenirs Asian Arts is a charming shophouse run by a lovely lady from Chiang Mai. Her merchandise mostly comes from Northern Thailand and neighbouring Burma and they are tastefully chosen.

Tanapa
Just across the road from the Plaza stands an elegant building at the top of some stairs; this is Tanapa, a shop absolutely bursting with fascinating curios from all over Asia. Run by a fluent English-speaking lady, Tanapa stocks Buddha images, hand-painted parasols, Chinese-style vases, stylish bags, puppets, Lacquerware, wooden artifacts, postcards and even wine. A true treasure chest of interesting and arresting items.
